Georgia continued their run of dominance in the European Nations Cup by thrashing Romania 38-9 to lift the title.

The Lelos outscored their close rivals by six tries to none in a superb display at Tbilisi’s Dinamo Arena in front of 50,000 fans.

Georgia finished the tournament unbeaten with five wins out of five, following on from their third-placed finish in their pool at the 2015 Rugby World Cup when they defeated Tonga and Namibia.

Brive prop Anton Peikrisvili scored two tries for the hosts as he was joined on the scoresheet by wingers Sandro Todua and Ghiorghi Pruidze, along with Ghiorghi Nemsadze and Jaba Bregvadze.

Merab Kvirikasvili added three conversions along with one Lasa Malaguradze to build up a huge points total.

Romania's only points came from the boot of Florin Vlaicu.
