Ireland’s Sam Prendergast, France’s Mickael Guillard and Scotland’s Tom Jordan have all been nominated for the Six Nations Rising Star award for their efforts in the 2025 Championship.
This is exclusively for players who have won their first Six Nations caps this year, and the winner will make history as the recipient of the inaugural award.
Sam Prendergast, Mickael Guillard and Tom Jordan nominated
Ireland fly-half Prendergast burst onto the Test stage during the Autumn Nations Series, but has quickly become a key part of Simon Easterby’s side this Six Nations. The Leinsterman has started all four of Ireland’s Test so far this Championship and currently sits second in the points-charts with 44 to his name – an average of 11 per game – and is only seven behind experienced French back Thomas Ramos.
Speaking of Les Bleus, lock Guillard is another player up for the new award after his exploits in this Championship. The Lyon forward made his Test debut during France’s summer tour to Argentina, but again has seen his stock rise following his maiden Six Nations campaign. So far, he too has featured in all four of France’s matches and scored his first Test try in the 73-24 win over Italy in round three.
Finally, versatile Scotland back Jordan also made his Test debut during the Autumn Nations Series but has since become a key member of his side’s starting XV this Six Nations. Jordan came off the bench to good effect in the win over Italy in round one, and has since started their next three Tests at 12 and proved to be a decent replacement for Sione Tuipulotu as well. He currently has two tries to his name, putting him level with Duhan van der Merwe and Blair Kinghorn for Gregor Townsend’s side.
The winner will be announced after the conclusion of ‘Super Saturday’.
