The latest edition of the Six Nations is rapidly approaching with the 2024 championship getting underway in the first weekend of February.

That means it is time to get stuck into the Six Nations Fantasy game and select your squad before the first round. Here are the highest-ranked players you can consider.

James Lowe (Ireland) & Damian Penaud (France) – 20.0 stars

A powerful duo assume the responsibility of being the top-ranked players in 2024 with Antoine Dupont unavailable.

Lowe has been brilliant in the Test arena in Irish colours for some time. His team has a real chance of winning the title again, meaning the wing is likely to get points from Ireland winning in most games of the championship. He is also a try-scoring threat but it does not stop there as Lowe has grown as a creative influence as well. Add in his cannon of a left boot that is a real 50:22 threat and there is an absolute points machine.

Frenchman Penaud has become synonymous with tries. The wing is truly prolific personified and a dangerous threat whether he crosses for a try or sets one up. There are so many games where he even does both. Les Bleus are likely to win most of their games and Penaud is a shoo-in for top try scorer making him a very strong pick.

Hugo Keenan (Ireland) & Finn Russell (Scotland) – 19.0 stars

Another pair of players that are unsurprisingly right up near the top of the most valuable list given how significantly they influence the clashes they feature in.

Consistency is the immediate watchword when it comes to Keenan who very rarely makes errors in the Ireland 15 shirt. Partly owing to his Sevens background, the full-back possesses a very comprehensive skill-set which has been a big part of Ireland’s success in recent years. Keenan will make a lot of metres in the championship whilst scoring some tries and is also a 50:22 threat meaning he makes for a solid pick.

Scotland’s maverick fly-half, Russell, is a walking points machine all on his own. He will start every game he is fit for and just about every piece of attack will come through him. The Bath man is a magician in every sense of the word and will load up on try assists whilst also kicking for goal. Don’t forget his 50:22 threat as well. Right up there with the best attacking exponents in the competition.

Duhan van der Merwe (Scotland) & Thomas Ramos (France) – 18.0 stars

Rounding out the top players are two more outstanding selections and stars that will likely be selected by a lot of fantasy players.

It is almost a no-brainer to squeeze the towering Scottish wing into your side considering how many players Van der Merwe will beat. He holds the Six Nations record for defenders beaten in a single tournament. No doubt he will be scoring tries as he always does.

On the other hand, France star Ramos is a strong contender for the top-point scorer in the Six Nations as he is in almost every competition he plays in. As a goal-kicker, there are few more reliable than the versatile playmaker who will not only create tries. Ramos is a very very strong pick.
