The penultimate round of the 2026 Six Nations is upon us as Ireland hosts Wales, France visits Scotland and Italy aims to upset England in Rome.

France head into the weekend’s action as the league leaders and will be eager to continue their Grand Slam bid with Scotland next on their list.

But before Les Bleus attempt to do so, Ireland and Wales collide at the Aviva Stadium on Friday evening.

Team notes

For the meeting in Dublin, Andy Farrell has made a host of changes with Jacob Stockdale returning to the starting line-up with Ulster teammate Nick Timoney featuring on the side of the scrum. Tom O’Toole also starts whilst Dan Sheehan is rested and Ronan Kelleher is preferred.

Meanwhile, Steve Tandy has had to contend with a host of injuries with Dan Edwards returning at fly-half for Sam Costelow, while Ellis Mee returns on the right wing as a replacement for Gabriel Hamer-Webb. James Botham has been promoted from the bench to take over from Taine Plumtree in the starting back-row with Alex Mann shifting to the blindside flanker role.

As for Scotland, Gregor Townsend has rang the changes too with Duhan van der Merwe dropping out of the team with Darcy Graham lining up on the wing. There are further changes in the pack as Zander Fagerson moves to the bench with D’arcy Rae starting with George Turner and Pierre Schoeman.

Fabien Galthie has made five changes to his starting XV, welcoming the return of Matthieu Jalibert who missed the last round of action. Charles Ollivon and Mickael Guillard start in the second-row, while Nicolas Depoortere and Yoram Moefana are the starting centres.

As for Steve Borthwick, he has heavily rotated his team for the trip to Rome making nine personnel changes. Elliot Daly is one of those as he starts in a back-three that features Tom Roebuck and Cadan Murley with Tommy Freeman and Seb Atkinson forming a new centre pairing. Ben Spencer partners Fin Smith in the half-backs with even more changes in the pack.

Finally, Italy have been bolstered by the return of Juan Ignacio Brex who rekindles his partnership with Tommaso Menoncello. Lorenzo Pani takes over at full-back from the injured Ange Capuozzo. Tommaso Allan is a notable returnee on the bench.
