Wales winger Louis Rees-Zammit set social media abuzz after using Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration after scoring in the Rugby World Cup match against Wales.
The speedster ran in his second try of the World Cup after eight minutes of the Pool C clash against Os Lobos.
LRZ does CR7’s celebration
Flanker Jac Morgan passed the ball to Rees-Zammit out wide, and he stabbed a neat grubber in behind the defence.
The rapid Welshman regathered the ball and raced away to score the game’s first try.
After dotting down, Rees-Zammit lept in the air and used Portugal football legend Ronaldo’s goal celebration known as ‘SIUU’.

“Louis Rees-Zammit doing the Cristiano Ronaldo Siuuu celebration against Portugal. What a boy,” one fan on X, formerly Twitter, posted.
Another observer said that the winger “hitting the SIUUU celebration against Portugal is some lovely, if unnecessary, sh**housery”.
Journalist Owain Jones added some context with the winger being a Manchester United, Ronaldo’s former club, fan.
“Very slick finish from Louis Rees Zammit, who celebrates his try like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo (he’s a huge Man Utd fan). Portugal’s fans voice their displeasure. This game is crackling,” his post read.
One fan was left stunned, saying, “No way LRZ just dropped a siuu on Portugal!”
Big first half back at the World Cup
Portugal kept Warren Gatland’s side under the cosh in the first half.
Wales were the far more fancied side for the fixture, with Portugal featuring in their first World Cup match since 2007.
Os Lobos had an early chance to go ahead, but Samuel Marques missed his shot at goal.
Rees-Zammitt’s try broke the deadlock, but Galtand’s charge were not able to break through the defence for the next 30 minutes of the first half.
Captain Dewi Lake muscled over from close range to extend Wales’ lead to 14-3 just before the end of the half.
