Respected French outlet Midi Olympique have named four English stars in their Six Nations Team of the Championship, while hooker Dan Sheehan is the sole Irish representative.

Ireland, who lost their Six Nations crown to Les Bleus, have seen the likes of Jamison Gibson-Park, James Lowe, Bundee Aki, Tadhg Beirne, Caelan Doris and Andrew Porter snubbed for spots in this team, which has a distinctive blue tint about it as eight of Fabien Galthie’s squad make the team.

Elsewhere, Scotland and Italy also have one player each, while Wales have none.

Scotland’s one inclusion comes in the form of Toulouse back Blair Kinghorn, who has been named at 15 by Midi Olympique. He is also joined by fellow Player of the Championship nominees Tommy Freeman and Louis Bielle-Biarrey in the back three for this XV.

In midfield, and keeping with the nominees for Player of the Championship, Tommaso Menoncello is Italy’s sole representative, and he joins French back Yoram Moefana in midfield.

England’s Fin Smith starts at fly-half, edging out the likes of Sam Prendergast and Romain Ntamack to the post, while France skipper Antoine Dupont is named at nine.

Gregory Alldritt is named at eight with Tom Curry and Francois Cros on the flanks, beating Tom’s brother Ben Curry, Jac Morgan, Paul Boudehent and Ben Earl into this selection. Mickael Guillard edges out the likes of Maro Itoje and Beirne to take the number five shirt. He is joined by Thibaud Flament in the second-row.

Rounding off their selection, Will Stuart takes the number three spot, the aforementioned Sheehan has been named at hooker and France star Jean-Baptiste Gros makes it in at loosehead.
