Scotland have handed Jack Dempsey a first start for his adopted country in their final Autumn Nations Series clash with Argentina on Saturday.

The Australian-born back-row is one of two alterations made by head coach Gregor Townsend, with lock Jonny Gray coming in for brother Richie who is suspended.

Dempsey, who has come off the bench thus far in the year-end Tests, starts at number eight with Matt Fagerson and captain Jamie Ritchie named as the flankers.

Jonny Gray replaces brother Richie

Jonny Gray links up with Grant Gilchrist in the second-row, with Richie Gray having been handed a three-week ban due to dangerous play against the All Blacks.

Completing the pack will be Fraser Brown, who makes a second consecutive start at hooker, and Pierre Schoeman (loosehead) and Zander Fagerson (tighthead).

In the backs, it is the same back three start for the third consecutive fixture, with Duhan van der Merwe and Darcy Graham on the wings and Stuart Hogg at full-back.

Sione Tuipulotu and Chris Harris are the centres, while scrum-half Ali Price and classy fly-half Finn Russell once again form the half-back pairing this weekend.

On the bench, prop Murphy Walker is in line for his second cap, having made his bow in the victory over Fiji, while back-row Andy Christie has been included.

The remaining front-row cover sees Jamie Bhatti and George Turner included, with second-row Glen Young the other forward on the bench for this meeting.

The backline options available to Scotland head coach Townsend are Ben White, Blair Kinghorn and Cameron Redpath in a 5-3 split between forwards and backs.

Scotland looking for revenge

Scotland will be looking to exact revenge over the Pumas at Murrayfield after they fell to an agonising 2-1 series defeat on South American soil back in July.

Argentina’s side for this weekend’s match is bolstered by the return of captain Julian Montoya as the Pumas look to sign off the year with a win on the road.
