Scotland have confirmed their Summer Tour fixtures to North and South America.

Scotland will head to North and South America this July after announcing a four-game summer tour.

Gregor Townsend’s side are set to tackle Tier 2 nations Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay in July.

Scotland’s Summer Tour

“Having the ability to play four games on this year’s summer tour is a brilliant opportunity for us,” said Scotland head coach Townsend.

“It will enable us to spend added time working with a wider group of players, building more cohesion with our squad and also giving more players experiences of preparing for and playing Test match rugby.

“With the travel demands and contrasting styles of rugby from the four nations we face, we will be challenged on and off the field to deliver quality performances.

“Touring is a great way for a group to build closer bonds, and I’m sure we’ll see new players come through and thrive in our environment.”

It’s the first time in six years that Scotland will face Canada and the USA. The Scots ran out 48-109 winners in Edmonton the last time they clashed with Canada and were beaten 30-29 in Houston when they last clashed with the USA.

Following their fixture in North America, Scotland head south, where the senior side will face Chile for the first time after Scotland A secured a 45-5 win in Santiago two years ago.

Following their clash with Chile in Santiago, they conclude their tour in Montevideo against Uruguay.

The game against Uruguay will mark the first time the two sides have played each other since the 1999 Rugby World Cup, in a match Scotland won 43-12, with Townsend scoring a try.
