Scotland international centre Cameron Redpath has some good news to celebrate ahead of the Six Nations after inking a new contract with Premiership side Bath.

Redpath joined the West Country club from Sale Sharks in 2019 and has played 55 matches, shining in the midfield outside of Finn Russell so far this season.

The 24-year-old’s current contract was due to expire at the end of the season but he’s now put pen to paper on a three-year extension at the Recreation Ground.

Loving it

“I am buzzing,” he said after signing the deal.

“It’s been a good couple of years since I joined. Obviously at the start of my career here it was a bit tough through injury and a few things that kept me on the sidelines for a while but the last year and a half for me has been really good.

“I am really enjoying my rugby, and enjoying the group that we’ve got here, whether that’s the coaches, the staff, the players and the fans. It’s a great place to be and I am loving it.

“I feel that we’ve got a really good chance of winning something, so I am really happy and really enjoying what we are building here.”

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan was full of praise for Redpath, who has won nine caps for Scotland thus far, believing he can become an “all-time great”.

“Cam is a starting international centre, he has been brilliant for Bath Rugby the last number of years,” he said.

“He is injury-free and most importantly he’s formed a very good combination with players inside and outside of him.

“He is dependable and I trust Cam and he can become an all-time great player. I am so glad Cam will be staying at Bath.”

Burnley FC chief to replace Lucy Wray at Saracens

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Saracens continue to face upheaval after the club confirmed that chief executive Lucy Wray is to step down at the end of the month.

Wray has been at the helm of Saracens for the last four years and was responsible for navigating the reigning domestic champions out of the salary cap scandal.

The news follows confirmation by Racing 92 that Owen Farrell will be joining them next season, with other players such as Mako and Billy Vunipola expected to follow him out of StoneX Stadium.

“Now is the right time for a new adventure and to put myself and my family first, albeit this has been a hugely difficult decision to make,” Wray said.

Former Burnley FC chief operating officer Mark Thompson is set to replace Wray as chief executive.
