Scarlets prop Phil John will be out of action for two months after he underwent surgery on a troublesome knee.
The veteran front row, who has also taken on coaching duties this season after Wayne Pivac was promoted to head coach, will have to spend eight weeks on the sidelines, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Following a consultation earlier today veteran prop John went under the knife for treatment to a longstanding knee cartilage issue.
“Phil has had a longstanding on-going issue with his right knee that was more problematic after Saturday’s game,” said Scarlets Head of Medical Andrew Walker. 0
“For the health of his knee it was decided that taking the surgical route was the best option.
“We expect Phil to make a full recovery but is likely to be out for up to 8 weeks.”
