Rugby Union Today: Teams of the week and injury news
Another busy day in the rugby union game as we take a look at the standout players from the Six Nations and Super Rugby over the weekend.
What’s on the site
Following the weekend’s action, which saw Ireland claim Europe’s premier competition, we have named our Teams of the Week for the Six Nations and Super Rugby.
Who’s hot and who’s not returns while there are also highlights of the Vancouver Sevens, where Fiji were crowned champions after beating Kenya in the final.
What’s in the news
England received a boost when head coach Eddie Jones claimed that captain Dylan Hartley should be available for this weekend’s clash with Ireland, but that was tempered by Elliot Daly’s potential absence after picking up a foot injury.
Daly was not the only casualty in the France-England encounter with Guilhem Guirado a doubt for their match against Wales.
In Super Rugby, the Lions will be without Warren Whiteley for a month while in the northern hemisphere Connacht announced the signing of back-rower Robin Copeland.
