Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look ahead to Saturday’s Super Rugby games and also review the Hurricanes v Chiefs match.

What’s on the site

The Hurricanes became the first team to book their place in the Super Rugby semi-finals following a narrow victory over intra-country rivals the Chiefs.

Three more encounters take place on Saturday and we have previews of Crusaders v Sharks, Waratahs v Highlanders and Lions v Jaguares.

We also have a rundown of the transfers in the Gallagher Premiership and Top 14, while there is a video which shows the transformation of AT&T Park into a rugby ground ahead of the Sevens World Cup.

Rebels’ forward Lopeti Timani has opened up over the incident which left him with serious facial injuries. Team-mate Amanaki Mafi was arrested and charged over the alleged assault, which Timani claims was as a result of a vicious attack.

The Sevens World Cup starts soon in San Francisco where both titles are currently held by the New Zealand men and women.

Super Rugby has reached the knockout stages and Sky Sports will show the other three games from the Qualifiers on Saturday. It starts with the Crusaders taking on the Sharks before the Waratahs and Lions face the Highlanders and Jaguares respectively.

With the Sevens World Cup also taking place this weekend, ITV will show highlights from the event.
