Another busy day in the rugby union game as World Rugby announced that five legends would be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

What’s on the site

Ronan O’Gara, Liza Burgess, Stephen Larkham, Pierre Villepreux and Bryan Williams will be inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame on September 12.

Larkham is currently assistant coach at the Wallabies preparing for the Rugby Championship and we have a promo looking at the 2018 competition which starts next week.

Meanwhile, South Africa legend Jaque Fourie has officially retired from the game and we have both the story and a quiz looking at his career.

What’s in the news

Ahead of the Rugby Championship, coaches Michael Cheika and Ian Foster have had their say on the upcoming clash between Australia and New Zealand, which takes place on August 18.

In Super Rugby, the Brumbies have bolstered their backline by signing Irae Simone from the Waratahs, who was Kurtley Beale’s understudy.

Elsewhere, Joe Gray has signed a short-term contract at Northampton Saints following his departure from Harlequins while another hooker, ex-Bristol man Ross McMillan, has joined Leicester Tigers.

What’s on social media

Perhaps not wholly rugby-related but former Worcester lock Christian Scotland-Williamson is currently trying to make his way in the NFL and he produced his first contribution in a pre-season friendly.

What’s on TV

One of those incredibly rare times when no games are televised. Catch your breath though as next week it’s the Rugby Championship.
