Rokoduguni backing Bath to win at Saracens

Bath winger Semesa Rokoduguni is confident that the side can go to Allianz Park and topple champions Saracens on Sunday.

Bath head into the contest buoyed by the return of their international stars in George Ford and Jonathan Joseph, and having got the better of Saracens earlier in the season.

It was Bath who came out on top last December with a 14-11 win at The Rec but Todd Blackadder’s side head into Sunday’s game on the back of consecutive Premiership defeats to Bristol and Wasps.

“We’ll take confidence from beating Saracens earlier in the season, plus we’ve got our international boys back,” Rokoduguni told the Premiership Rugby website.

“They will also be getting their international boys back, so we’re expecting something different from them, but for us it’s about the way we prepare.

“If we prepare well with the right mindset, I think we’ll do the job.”

Rokoduguni also paid credit to the coaching staff for opting to rest key players in the Anglo-Welsh Cup earlier in the season, which gave the squad a two-week break to prepare for Sunday’s big game.

“I said to the coaches that a few of the boys have really needed that,” he added.

“It’s taken my mind away from rugby for a bit, but when I came back into training I wanted to go full on and I wanted to concentrate more on getting better.

“The coaches have done a really good job in keeping the boys interested in their everyday jobs in training, and in doing their job at the end of the week.”
