Northampton Saints starlet Henry Pollock has returned to the senior England squad, with Steve Borthwick naming a 28-man training group to begin preparations for their Six Nations clash with Scotland.

Pollock was part of the senior squad for their Girona training camp ahead of the Six Nations opener against Ireland, but was later released to play for the U20s. He has since started in both of their age-grade wins against Ireland and France respectively.

With the livewire flanker being named in the 28, it suggests that he is not far away from the game-day 23 in what is a significant decision from Borthwick.

The Six Nations is currently in the first of two fallow weeks, with England heading into it off the back of a 26-25 win over France.

Whilst Pollock is the only man returning to the squad, there is some injury concern over George Martin and Tom Curry. Both forwards started in the win over France, with Curry playing the full 80, but they are currently nursing niggles.

However, they have been included for rehabilitation and will remain at Pennyhill Park with the rest of the squad.

They are both expected to rejoin full training next week ahead of the Scotland clash.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso will also be back in the England camp for one day of rehab on Thursday, with the Exeter Chiefs winger in the process of returning from a shoulder injury.

Elsewhere, the rest of the 23-man squad from the France clash remain in camp, and they are joined by the aforementioned Pollock, Oscar Beard, Ted Hill, George Ford and Tom Roebuck, who are all selected despite missing out on the victory last weekend.

Alex Lozowski, Curtis Langdon, Asher Opoku-Fordjour, Bevan Rodd, Fraser Dingwall and Ben Spencer have been released.

After facing Scotland, where England hope to reclaim the Calcutta Cup for the first time since 2020, they take on Italy at home and Wales at the Principality Stadium in the final two rounds of the Six Nations.
