It’s do-or-die time in Super Rugby Pacific this weekend as the competition reaches its knockout rounds and the quarter-final action gets underway in Hamilton on Friday where the Chiefs are hosting the Reds.

The Chiefs have been bolstered by All Blacks backline duo Shaun Stevenson and Emoni Narawa’s return, after they were late withdrawals in last week’s loss to the Blues with respective hamstring and back injuries, while fellow internationals Anton Lienert-Brown and Tupou Vaa’i are also back after being rested.

Meanwhile, at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand centre Rieko Ioane is back in action for the Blues‘ clash with the Fijian Drua after he also withdrew shortly ahead of that clash against the Chiefs with a hand injury.

Elsewhere, in Wellington, Ioane’s All Blacks midfield partner, Jordie Barrett, will captain the Hurricanes again as regular skipper Brad Shields returns to action via the replacements bench against the Rebels.

The Melbourne-based outfit are boosted by the return of Wallabies fly-half Carter Gordon, who is back after a two-week absence due to concussion symptoms in what is potentially the club’s last-ever match after Rugby Australia announced last week that they had taken the decision to axe the Rebels from Super Rugby Pacific.
