Exeter are set to receive a significant boost going into the Christmas period as back-rower Tom Johnson readies himself for a return to action.

The 32-year-old blindside flanker, who has not played this term due to a neck injury, is poised for a return to A League action next Monday.

“Tom Johnson is probably going to play in our A League game next week,” revealed Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter, speaking to BBC Devon.

The England international forward’s comeback will be against the Wasps A team on December 22.
