Reds weigh up Cooper return

Reds fly-half Quade Cooper could make his return to action this week for the side from his shoulder injury.

Cooper's off-field future remains unresolved, with Toulon confirming recently that he would be moving to France before the Reds stated that nothing had been signed.

The 2015 campaign has been a frustrating time for both the Reds and Cooper, with the Wallaby international suffering two shoulder setbacks which have kept him out for multiple weeks.

Cooper has returned to training however and the Reds would love to be able to deploy their star number ten against the Sharks at Suncorp this weekend.

Young fly-half Jake McIntyre went well on his first start against the Rebels, but Cooper's experience would see him instantly involved if fit.

“(Cooper) hasn’t done any contact work at this point but those guys around last week would have seen him train," Reds boss Richard Graham told AAP.

"He’s been out there. But clearly the Sharks have some big bodies.

“We’ll need to make sure we put him through every appropriate progression there is. We obviously don’t want to take a risk at the same time.”
