Quiz: Can you name the Saracens team that won the Champions Cup for the first time in 2016?

With the 2023/24 Investec Champions Cup heading into the business end of the tournament, we take a look back at some of the competition’s former champions and challenge you to name the winning 23s.

This time we task you with naming the matchday 23 of the first Saracens team to win the Champions Cup in 2016.

The Londoners fell cruelly short in 2014, losing the final to Toulon and would lose in the semi-finals to Clermont a season later.

However, in 2014, Saracens finally got their hands on the trophy, defeating Racing 92 21-9 in the final hosted in Lyon.

The Sarries team that successfully won the final was filled with England internationals, with eight named in the starting XV.

Three South African players also cracked the starting lineup, although only one of the trio had played for the Springboks.

Mark McCall also included a USA Eagles star in his side with two Scotland and two Argentine internationals featuring in the matchday squad.

This Saracens team would later go on to complete the Premiership-Champions Cup double, defeating Exeter Chiefs 28-20 in the final.

There was just one change to the team that defeated Racing 92 to the one that beat Exeter Chiefs.
