Hints

The first coach on the list took charge of the All Blacks in 1992 and would lead the side to a Rugby World Cup final in 1995.

His successor took on the job in 1996, having openly pushed for the role but losing out in 1992. He worked with the All Blacks squad in 1991 and would lead the side through to the 1999 World Cup, where they would lose in the third-fourth play-off – his final fixture in charge before resigning.

While the next All Blacks coach would only be in the role in 2000 and 2001, he would return to the set-up and enjoy immense success as an assistant coach, helping the side win two World Cups.

After he left the role in 2001, he was replaced by a former Waikato forward who would lead the side until the end of the 2003 World Cup and has since gone on to coach in Japan, England, the USA and South Africa.

His replacement would lead the All Blacks to a disappointing quarter-final exit at the 2007 World Cup but be back in the role beyond the tournament and would coach the side to their first World Cup title since 1987 with a successful tournament in 2011.

The next two All Blacks coaches were promoted from assistant roles, with the first helping the side win the 2015 World Cup.

The most recent All Blacks head coach takes on the role after a hugely successful stint with the Crusaders in Super Rugby, winning seven titles.
