Quiz: Can you name all the Six Nations Player of the Championship winners?

Antoine Dupont picked up the 2023 Six Nations Player of the Championship, but can you name every award winner since its inception in 2004?

The France captain beat fellow countryman Thomas Ramos and Damian Penaud to the award. Meanwhile, Ireland’s Caelan Doris, Mack Hansen and Hugo Keenan were also nominated but lost out to Les Bleus’ skipper.

Antoine Dupont wins the award for the third time

Dupont is the second player in the award’s history to claim the title three times, following in the footsteps of an Ireland legend who won the award in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

He is also the third player to win back-to-back awards, with a Scotland legend also doing so.

Dupont claimed the award last year after captaining the side to their first Grand Slam in 12 years.

The award has not always been open to public voting. 

However, this year it was with fans voting on the shortlist. Over 138,000 fans had their say, with Dupont receiving 26 per cent of the votes.

History of the Six Nations Player of the Championship Award

When Dupont won the award for the first time in his career, he also became the first Frenchman to do so.

An Irishman has claimed the award on seven occasions, including the very first title in 2004.

In 2005, a Wales international claimed the title for the first time, with four countrymen picking up the personal gong since. 

Just one Italian has claimed the award, and the same applies to England.

Meanwhile, a Scotsman has collected the gong on three occasions.

In 2005, a forward won the award for the first time, and only four forwards have done so since.
