Price praises squad competition

Scarlets lock Tom Price believes that the region is headed in the right direction following six consecutive wins in the PRO12.

After a disappointing start, Wayne Pivac’s side have since won their last six PRO12 matches, and three of the last four with a try bonus point.

Following November’s Tests the team will welcome back a number of key stars into the squad, which brings added competition to the group.

“It’s good to have them back, we’ve been playing quite well without them but they bring an added edge and experience. There will be a few boys back in this weekend, it’ll be good to get them back in the mix and the whole squad back together,” Price told the Scarlets website.

Price believes that the competition in the squad is healthy; “There’s a lot of competition in the squad but I think that’s a good thing. Last year I played a lot more than I was expecting to play. It’s all about playing rugby and developing, I’m still quite young so I have to keep trying my best and hopefully the coaches will keep picking me in the side.

“I’m just happy to put the shirt on, keep my head down and keep playing well.”
