Preview: Harlequins v Northampton

Date published: October 7 2016

Harlequins have made four changes to the starting team that played Wasps last week ahead of facing Northampton Saints.

In a changed front row Joe Marler, Rob Buchanan and Kyle Sinckler, who this week re-signed for the club, start.

Nick Evans is back from injury to start at fly-half. Among the replacements, Mat Luamanu and Joe Marchant both return.

Meanwhile, there are five changes to the Northampton starting line-up from that which ran out to face Exeter last Friday.

Ahsee Tuala, Luther Burrell, Stephen Myler, Tom Wood and Teimana Harrison all return to the team.

Form: Harlequins have won both of their home games so far this season, but have been defeated in all three on their travels. 'Quins have lost just once in their last five encounters at Twickenham Stoop in all competitions, 24-62 to Exeter in the final game of last season. Northampton Saints doubled their tally of victories in the 2016/17 Premiership campaign with their 20-19 win over Exeter at Franklins Gardens on Friday. The Saints have been victorious in two of their last three away games. Northampton have won the last seven of their encounters with Harlequins in all tournaments since the Londoners 22-19 win at the Stoop in the Premiership in May 2013.
