Ulster have been given encouraging news on the injuries to key duo Paddy Jackson and Jared Payne, with both set to feature against Edinburgh.

Jackson suffered a head wound at Zebre which needed stitches while Payne has recovered from the hip injury he sustained against the Scarlets.

Meanwhile, hooker Rob Herring suffered a ‘stinger’ to his shoulder during Saturday’s match. However, he will be available to face Edinburgh on Friday.

“Iain Henderson underwent a successful hip operation last Thursday. He has begun his rehab today and will be reviewed at twelve weeks to determine an accurate prognosis for his return to rugby,” Ulster added in a statement on Monday.
