Toulon back James O'Connor returned to training on Tuesday following his five-week lay-off due to a suspected heart problem.

The 25-year-old Wallaby was hospitalised on February 21 following Toulon's 43-13 Top 14 win over Oyonnax, with local media later reporting that he had suffered a heart attack, but head coach Bernard Laporte denied any claims of a heart condition.

In a statement, the French giants said that O'Connor had "undergone a series of tests and medical examinations in hospital which proved reassuring and satisfactory"and confirmed that "his rugby career is in no way called into question."

They also added that they would "take the time to realise all the necessary examinations before the player returns to competition".
