New Zealand player ratings: Sam Cane and Rieko Ioane lead the way in triumph over Argentina

Following their 53-3 triumph over Argentina in the Rugby Championship Test at FMG Stadium in Hamilton on Saturday, here’s the player ratings for New Zealand.
15 Jordie Barrett: Was in fine form at the back as he was solid under the high ball and on defence. Also impressed on attack and was rewarded with a try for his efforts. 8
14 Will Jordan: Has become a marked man on attack but despite that still had some good moments and created chances for his team-mates. 7
13 Rieko Ioane: Came to the fore with a strong attacking performance and proved a real handful to the Pumas defence while also doing well in the execution of his defensive duties. 9
12 David Havili: Combined well with Ioane in midfield as he showed some deft touches on attack and did well with a try-scoring assist off a scrum for his centre partner. 8
11 Caleb Clarke: Delivered a busy shift on attack and kept the Pumas busy with some barnstorming runs. Scored a well-taken try and also put in some big tackles. 8
10 Richie Mo’unga: Shone as the All Blacks chief playmaker and was excellent off the kicking tee. 8
9 Aaron Smith: The veteran scrum-half was the perfect link between forwards and backs and impressed with his crisp service to his outside backs. 8
8 Ardie Savea: Does he ever play poorly for his country? Savea shone throughout as he was at the forefront of New Zealand’s attacking and defensive endeavours. 8
Captain fantastic
7 Sam Cane (c): Came into this clash under tremendous pressure after some poor showings but delivered arguably his best performance of the year after a strong all-round effort. 9
6 Shannon Frizell: The Highlander was not as visible as his back-row partners but still put in a huge all-round shift. 7
5 Scott Barrett: Another one who, like Frizell, gave his all at the coalface of his side’s forward effort. 7
4 Sam Whitelock: The veteran second-row combined well with Barrett and caught the eye with a strong performance in the lineouts and on defence. 8
3 Tyrel Lomax: Continued where he left off with some more excellent scrummaging while also doing well on defence. 7
2 Samisoni Taukei’aho: The 25-year-old has nailed down his position as the All Blacks’ first choice hooker and impressed as a ball carrier and in the execution of his core duties. 8
1 Ethan de Groot: Like Lomax, he stood up well in the scrums and started the onslaught with the first try of the match. Also put in a huge defensive effort. 8
Replacements: All the players who came off the All Blacks’ bench gave a good account of themselves with the experienced duo of Brodie Retallick and Beauden Barrett leading the way. 8
