‘Never heard of him’ – Henry Pollock hilariously fumbles when naming British and Irish Lions greats

British and Irish Lions flanker Henry Pollock.
As the youngest member of the British and Irish Lions squad, one can forgive breakout star Henry Pollock for fumbling over the names of legends who have donned the famous red jersey before him.
The 20-year-old took on a challenge with Joe Sports where he was tasked with naming legendary B&I Lions players, some of whom played on the 2005 tour, the same year that he was born.
The power of YouTube and social media nowadays means that so many of the talents rising through the ranks today will know of the many legends of the game that came before them but some will slip through the cracks.
Henry Pollock shows his age
And for Pollock, some BIG British and Irish Lions names have yet to grab his attention.
To his credit, he got the first player spot on despite being a little bit unsure, asking, “Is that Shane Williams?” before the interviewer confirmed that he was, in fact, right.
But the next Welsh great, completely bamboozled the young Englishman.
“I don’t who that is,” he admitted in response to an image of Gavin Henson.
“Sorry, I don’t who that is.”
When he was told that it was Hansen, he responded: “I’ve never heard of him.”
He was able to successfully name former Lions captain and interim Ireland head coach Paul O’Connell and ex-England centre Will Greenwood but epically stumbled on the great Jason Robinson.
Pollock got the first name of Billy Whizz correct but failed with the surname, saying “Jason Leonard”.
“That’s very bad,” he remarked on his blunder.
“I should know that.”
‘I did alright’
While he said that he recognised the face of Gareth Thomas, he was unable to remember his name and the same was true for Ireland great Keith Wood.
When an image of Jason Leonard did come up, Pollock was stumped before being assisted by the interviewer.
He finished off the challenge by nailing Gavin Hastings and in summary, stated that he thought he did ‘alright’.
