Former Springbok hooker and Cheetahs head coach Naka Drotske is in a stable condition after being shot three times during a home invasion on Thursday.

According to Netwerk24, Drotske and ex-Bok prop Os du Randt were at the house of Drotske’s brother, Tinus, in Kameeldrift, when five armed robbers stormed in and began shooting.

Drotske was shot three times while trying to protect his family, in the arm and chest. News24 claims he has lost ‘almost a third of his blood’.

“From what we hear [Drotske’s condition] is stable,” Cheetahs CEO Harold Verster told Sport24 on Friday. “I had a chat with Os this morning. He is OK. He said it was like a war zone with shots going off everywhere … he said it was chaos.”
