Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal has told former All Blacks winger Julian Savea he can leave the club, according to reports in the French media.

This follows the player’s performance in Toulon’s 19-10 loss to Agen in their Top 14 encounter at Stade Armandie on Saturday.

“I’m going to ask for a DNA test. They must have swapped him on the plane (when he joined from Hurricanes),” Boudjellal told RMC Sport.

“If I were him I would apologise and go back to my home country.”

Boudjellal said he informed the 2015 Rugby World Cup winner that his services are not required at the club anymore.

“I’ve told him that he was free to go and wasn’t welcome at Toulon anymore,” he revealed.

Toulon’s defeat was their 10th of the season from 16 matches and they are currently languishing in 11th spot in the Top 14 standings.
