Meakes set for hearing

Gloucester outside centre Bill Meakes faces an anxious wait on a disciplinary hearing after receiving a red card during last week's Challenge Cup final.

Meakes was sent off against Edinburgh at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday by referee, Jérôme Garcès (France), in the 64th minute of the match for an alleged dangerous tackle on opposing back Sam Beard in contravention of Law 10.4(e).

Mark McParland (Ireland) has been appointed as the independent Judicial Officer for the hearing, which will take place in Dublin on Thursday.
