LV= Cup pool victories were picked up by the Dragons and Cardiff Blues on Friday as they beat the Ospreys and Scarlets respectively.

LV= Cup victories were picked up by the Dragons and Cardiff Blues on Friday as they overcame Welsh rivals the Ospreys and Scarlets respectively.

Cardiff Blues 19-13 Scarlets

Cardiff Blues made it two wins from two in the LV= Cup as they beat the Scarlets at the Arms Park.

A try from Ellis Jenkins on the hour mark moved the Blues ahead after Sion Bennett had crossed for the Scarlets and they showed maturity to see out the game, with Will Thomas’ late penalty giving them adequate breathing space to secure victory.

A total of 86 points were scored in the game at Liberty Stadium as the Dragons’ first-half masterclass helped them see off PRO12 pace-setters the Ospreys in their LV= Cup clash.

The Dragons scored five tries before the break and added another in the 46th minute before the Ospreys fought back admirably, scoring five tries of their own in a see-saw contest.
