Los Pumas head coach Felipe Contepomi has recalled World Cup trio Guido Petti, Santiago Grondona and Rodrigo Isgró for the Wallabies fixtures, but he will be without star man Matías Moroni.

Moroni started both Tests against the All Blacks and scored in the victory in Wellington. However, he picked up a hip injury in Test two at Eden Park and will not feature against the Wallabies.

Former Olympic Sevens star Isgró has been called up to replace the Newcastle Falcons back in the squad.

Opinion: Joe Schmidt’s lack of overseas-based Wallabies will prove costly

Fellow returnees Grondona and Petti both come into the group for the first time under Contepomi, with this being their first involvement since the Rugby World Cup.

A notable inclusion is U20s star Luciano Asevedo, with the Liceo Rugby Club man being invited as a development player.

Strong pack named

Elsewhere in the squad, skipper Julian Montoya will retain the armband following his return to the squad last weekend. He will need to make an improved showing though against the Wallabies, with Agustin Creevy also involved.

Key forwards Pablo Matera, Marcus Kremer and Juan Martin Gonzalez all feature in the squad, as they look to copy their Wellington antics.

Elsewhere, towering lock Tomás Lavanini and powerful front-rowers Mayco Vivas, Thomas Gallo and Joel Sclavi are also named.

Mateo and Santiago Carreras included

Moving into the back division and Santiago and Mateo Carreras feature in the wider squad once again. The pair started both Tests against the All Blacks, notching up a collective 25 points (Santiago, 20; Mateo, five).

Santiago Chocobares and Lucio Cinti are among the headline names included. There is also room for Ignacio Mendy and Juan Cruz Mallia.

Argentina currently sit in third place in the Rugby Championship standings after registering that one win and a defeat from their opening two matches.
