Lopez among five France call-ups

Date published: November 14 2016

Clermont fly-half Camille Lopez has returned to the France national squad ahead of their match against Australia this weekend.

Lopez has been named in the squad ahead of François Trinh-Duc, who suffered an injury in the win over Samoa. This is the first time he has been called up since Guy Novès took over last year.

Despite being in the squad last week Jules Plisson misses out entirely, with Lopez replacing Trinh-Duc as the only recognised fly-half in the squad. Jean-Marc Doussain of Toulouse, primarily a scrum-half, is the other option.

Other changes see the additions of Xavier Chiocci (Toulon), Damien Chouly (Clermont), Kélian Galletier (Montpellier) and Maxime Mermoz (Toulon).

Jefferson Poirot (UBB), Loann Goujon (UBB), Sébastien Bezy (Toulouse) and Plisson drop out, along with Trinh-Duc.
