Lions lose back-row to injury

The Golden Lions suffered a setback when it was revealed that their number eight Ruaan Lerm has been sidelined through injury.

Lerm, who has started all the Johannesburg-based side's matches this season, sustained a grade two ankle ligament strain in the Lions' 31-16 defeat to the Sharks in Durban last weekend and is expected to be out of action for approximately four weeks.

Meanwhile, Lions captain Jaco Kriel, who sustained a concussion during that match, is recovering well and commenced a graded return to play (GRTP) programme on Monday.

He is expected to be available for selection for Friday’s match.
