Leinster flanker Conan out for two months

Date published: September 6 2016

Leinster flanker Jack Conan has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after he underwent surgery last week.

Conan injured his ankle in Leinster's pre-season game against Gloucester and has subsequently had an operation. An eight-week time frame from surgery is expected.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Leinster after the game against Treviso on Friday in the PRO12.

Ahead of the game this Saturday against Glasgow Warriors in Scotstoun Stadium, Leinster boss Leo Cullen has issued updates with regard to a number of players:

Ireland wing David Kearney has resumed full contact training and will be assessed later in the week.

Club captain Isa Nacewa has also resumed full contact training and will be assessed further as the week goes on.

New signing Ian Nagle meanwhile took a knock to his shoulder in the Bath pre-season game. His scan went well last week and Nagle is not expected to miss anything longer than a few weeks.
