Kruis wants form to do talking

Saracens second-row George Kruis has stressed he does not want his relationship with Steve Borthwick to be a factor in England selection.

Kruis was superb for his club as they beat Leicester in the Premiership on Saturday, picking up the man of the match award in the process.

And with Six Nations selection on the horizon for many Englishmen, the dynamic 25-year-old wants only his form to be a factor, not that he previously played under now forwards coach Borthwick while he was captain of Saracens.

"If I do get selected it would be off my own back," said Kruis.

"Steve was a mentor for me definitely. When you play for five years alongside a player like that you learn a few things off him. But he is another coach and that is the way it is.

"There will be no favouritism and I would not want it to be like that."
