Knee injury sidelines Lions centre

Golden Lions centre Harold Vorster has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

Vorster tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the Lions' 44-27 win over the Pumas in Johannesburg at the weekend. Vorster will undergo surgery this week and is set to return to action in 2016.

“Harold will be a big loss for us and the injury is rather unfortunate as he has had a great season and did well at both 12 and 13 respectively,” said Lions coach Johan Ackermann.

“I also believe he made huge strides this year and was in good form throughout so we are disappointed by this loss.

“We would like wish him all the best with his recovery and I know that he will come back and make a big contribution when he returns to action in six months.”
