Jono Gibbes confirmed as La Rochelle sporting director

La Rochelle have announced that former Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes will take over the reins at the Top 14 outfit on a four-year deal.

Gibbes will link up with the French club in November after a stint with Waikato in the Mitre 10 Cup and brings with him a fine pedigree, having spent six years at Leinster as forwards coach before joining Clermont for three campaigns prior to linking up with Ulster.

However, the 41-year-old announced in early March that he would be leaving the Belfast club due to family reasons and will now look to build on the fine work done at Stade Marcel-Deflandre by the now departed Patrice Collazo.
