Jet lag not a worry for Chiefs

Chiefs number seven Sam Cane expressed his delight in their 53-10 victory over the Force in Hamilton on Saturday.

The co-captain was happy with their Round Five effort despite a hectic travelling schedule over the last fortnight.

The Hamilton side thumped the Kings in South Africa – two weeks ago – and returned home, earlier this week, from their Round Four victory over the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

Preparing for their clash with the Force it was expected that this travelling schedule would have a negative effect on the New Zealanders' performance, but this however was not the case as the 2013 champions put 53 points past their opponents.

"There was a lot of talk about the travel – but it was great to be able to put on a performance that we’re proud of," Cane told reporters.

"In the first half we played a good brand of footy but we weren’t accurate enough.

"In the second half some of those passes started to stick and we were a little bit more clinical at the breakdown."
