Jamie Roberts picks absolutely STACKED all-time Six Nations Dream Team as one home nation overlooked
Split with former players Johnny Sexton (Ireland), Alun Wyn Jones (Wales) and Jason Robinson (Eng).
Wales great Jamie Roberts has picked an outrageously good Six Nations Dream Team that includes five compatriots and Warren Gatland as head coach.
Roberts chose the side in an interview with RugbyPass and his team only features one active player but is loaded with legendary figures and some Six Nations icons.
Back-three
The former centre has gone with the electric dual-code Englishman Jason Robinson at full-back. The 2003 Rugby World Cup winner was an outstanding player and a household name around the globe, making him a very easy choice for Roberts’ side.
For the wings, size was not the priority, instead it was elusive running and prolific try-scoring with one of the all-time greats Shane Williams of Wales and former Les Bleus star Vincent Clerc getting the nod for selection.

Centres
As expected the big names continue and they do not get much bigger than the leading Six Nations all-time try scorer Brian O’Driscoll, the Irish legend. Class comes to mind when thinking of the quality of the outside centre and similarly so for his centre partner in the side, another great, former Les Bleus star Yannick Jauzion.
Half-backs
There really is a plethora of options to choose at 10 from the Six Nations era and Roberts has looked past the Ronan O’Garas and Jonny Wilkinsons in favour of recently retired Johnny Sexton. The fly-half was truly masterful and led Ireland’s rise to the top of the world and is deserving of his spot.
Joining Sexton in the half-backs in one of Roberts’ long-term teammates and a mercurial scrum-half in his prime, Mike Phillips.
Is Andy Farrell’s Ireland the greatest Six Nations team in history?
Back-row
Roberts certainly did not skimp on the loose trio, beginning with the talismanic former Italian number Sergio Parisse, who is not only one of the greatest Azzurri players ever but one of the best the game has seen. He is joined by French workhorse Thierry Dusautoir, who in his day would set tackle record after tackle record. Rounding out the back-row is the breakdown threat and leadership of Sam Warburton, providing the perfect balance.
🇮🇹 @sergioparisse has announced he will retire at the end of the season.

Second-row
It would be criminal especially for a former Wales star not to include the most capped Test player in history, the great Alun Wyn Jones. Joining him in the lock pairing is the rugged former Ireland captain Paul O’Connell.
Front-row
Finally the first and only active player features in the form of the fleet-footed, ball-playing tighthead Tadhg Furlong, whose skill-set has earned him cult-like status amongst fans. Another Irish great is named at hooker in Rory Best, who was an absolute monster.
🤩 That pass from Tadhg Furlong!

Rounding out the side is another of Roberts’ long-term teammates, Gethin Jenkins, who certainly is one of the better looseheads in Six Nations history.
