Ireland star Jack Crowley makes decision on future amid heavy exit rumours
Jack Crowley running out for Munster before their URC clash against Connacht
Munster and Ireland fly-half Jack Crowley has penned a two-year contract extension to keep him with the Limerick side, the URC outfit have confirmed.
The Innishannon-native was subject to heavy interest from Premiership side Leicester Tigers, but he has decided to remain with the Irish province.
Jack Crowley pens new Munster deal
Crowley has been a key man for Munster since his debut during the 2021/22 season, and already has 65 appearances under his belt at the time of writing. He has also tallied 305 points in that time.
Since his debut, Crowley has helped fire Munster to the URC title in 2022/23 and has gone onto make his Ireland debut as well. He was a part of the 2023 World Cup squad that reached the quarter-finals, but later took a starring role in Ireland’s 2024 Six Nations title triumph.
He has also been in spellbinding form for Munster of late as well, notably sending his side through to the Investec Champions Cup quarter-finals with a classy drop-goal against La Rochelle, in front of Munster icon Ronan O’Gara.
Munster Rugby and the IRFU are pleased to confirm a two-year contract extension for Jack Crowley that will keep him at Munster until at least 2027 🥳
His future has been a major talking point in recent months, following reports Leicester Tigers were tabling a huge bid to bring him over the Irish sea to Mattioli Woods Welford Road, and he previously said that his “hands aren’t tied” over it.
“It’s still ongoing, but as I’ve said before, my main focus is on performance. The team behind me are looking after that, and hopefully it’ll be sorted,” Crowley told reporters at a recent Pinergy appearance last week.
“The most important thing is performance. That’s always been the case with me, you always want to give 100 per cent when you’re out there.”
Crowley will yet again need to be on top form this weekend, though, if Munster want to progress to the Champions Cup semi-finals, with a tough test against Bordeaux-Begles on the horizon.
