Ioane still positive despite defeat

Sale back-row TJ Ioane has urged his side to build on the positive performance from Friday's defeat to Harlequins as they head into Europe.

The Sharks suffered a narrow 16-14 defeat to Harlequins at the Stoop and Ioane believes there are positives to take from the result ahead of next Sunday's Challenge Cup clash with the Dragons at Rodney Parade.

"I think we are producing a lot of good rugby at the moment, and hopefully we can continue that on, and build on it heading into next week's European game against Newport Gwent Dragons," said the Samoa international.

"We just need to work on the things which didn't go too well for us, and carry on with what did go well."

Ioane was holding the Man-of-the-Match bottle of champagne whilst speaking and joked about how he ended up with it, but admitted he was pleased to be acknowledged.

"Yeah I'm pretty happy with receiving this award tonight, but otherwise disappointed with the side's result."
