Hobbs blow for Dragons

The Dragons have suffered a blow after loosehead Sam Hobbs was ruled out for the opening two months of the season due to injury.

Hobbs, 29, moved to Rodney Parade from Cardiff Blues last season and impressed in his debut campaign with his work around the field.

But according to the South Wales Argus, the loosehead will not feature in the Dragons' early games of the PRO14 as he requires surgery.

That leaves new coach Bernard Jackman with Phil Price, Thomas Davies and Luke Garrett as his loosehead options until Hobbs returns.
