Hand surgery for Ulugia

Date published: April 4 2016

Clermont will be without hooker John Ulugia for approximately six weeks after he suffered a fracture to his hand over the weekend.

The 30-year-old ex-Waratahs front-row sustained the injury against Toulon on Sunday and the club have confirmed he's since had surgery.

Incredibly this is the seventeenth operation required on one of Clermont's players so far in 2015/16, as they prepare for the Top 14 run-in.

Clermont currently top the league standings by six points, ahead of Montpellier and Racing 92, and will this week enjoy some time off after they did not qualify for the quarter-final stage of the European Rugby Champions Cup.
