Gossip: Four All Blacks linked with Top League

We bring you a round-up of the rumours doing the rounds in rugby union, including Kieran Read’s possible new club and the European transfer news.

French media are reporting that New Zealand number eight and captain Kieran Read could be poised for a move to Japan after the 2019 World Cup.

Remaining with the All Blacks and Ryan Crotty is also destined for Japan, according to RNZ, with Aaron Smith and Dane Coles linked there as well.

In England there’s plenty of rumours with clubs now talking to players ahead of next season. Rugby Inside Line are tweeting that Newcastle lock Will Witty is being eyed by Exeter. They also believe that Tom Lawday could leave the Chiefs while Glen Young is wanted by Harlequins.

Speaking of Harlequins and the same source tweet that impressive back-row Jack Clifford is wanted by Exeter in what would be a major arrival.

The Rugby Paper meanwhile highlight that Leicester Tigers are looking to sign Rob and Jean-Luc du Preez after already securing brother Dan.

The same newspaper also believe that Harlequins wing Charlie Walker could be in line for a return to Leicester Tigers at the end of 2018/19.

Rugby Pass meanwhile are reporting that former Ulster and current Perpignan fly-half Paddy Jackson is closing in on a move to London Irish.

Meanwhile, fly-half Ian Keatley is being linked with a departure from Munster at the end of the PRO14 season, according to the Limerick Leader.

In other news Ulster have denied that prop Wiehahn Herbst is heading back to South Africa to join the Bulls ahead of the Super Rugby season. Meanwhile, one confirmed arrival ahead of the southern hemisphere club season sees former Sharks lock Stephan Lewies sign up for the Lions.
