Goosen has burned his bridges

Racing 92 coach Laurent Travers says the manner in which Johan Goosen left means he has ruled out any possible return to the club in the future.

Goosen's shocked the rugby world last week when Racing announced the Springbok utility back had decided to retire and return to South Africa as a "commercial director".

Gooses was reportedly unhappy at Racing for a while and the only way he could get out of his contract, which he recently extended to 2020, was to retire.

Goosen's conduct has damaged his reputation in France and has left a sour taste with Racing, who criticised his behaviour.

Travers told Rugbyrama.fr the club condemned the players decision to leave in this manner, saying he should never wear the club jersey again.

"As a coach, you can not accept it", Travers said. "We have a group of players who want to win and fight together, but Goosen wanted to fight alone and get out of the boat. His behavior is not acceptable. It disrespects the club and his team-mates."
