Good and bad news for Crusaders

Crusaders second rower Sam Whitelock will not be available for his team's derby Super Rugby with the Blues this weekend due to a hamstring injury.

The All Black lock suffered the injury during his side's 29-10 Super Rugby win over the Waratahs in Christchurch on Friday.

Assistant coach Brad Mooar confirmed that the Crusaders vice-captain is in a race to be fit before the All Blacks Test against Wales on June 11 in Auckland.

All Black hooker Cody Taylor might also miss the clash against the Blues as he was seen sitting out of Tuesday's practice with a heavily strapped ankle.

It's not all doom and gloom for the men in red and black as they will receive a boost through the return of Fijian international Nemani Nadolo.

The juggernaut returns to the team after his four-week ban for a dangerous tackle on Brumbies scrum-half Tomas Cubelli. Nadolo has recently made himself unavailable to his national side after pledging his allegiance to the Crusaders' Super Rugby cause.

The Crusaders will be delighted to have Nadolo back as before he was banned, he had an impressive season scoring four tries and giving six assists.
