Further surgery for Taulupe Faletau

Bath have been hit by a setback with the news that Wales international number eight Taulupe Faletau is set for further surgery on his right arm.

Following further expert opinion, the club confirmed the disappointing news and didn’t give a timescale on the back-row’s absence from rugby.

“We are gutted for Taulupe, but this is the best course of action for him moving forwards as a player,” said director of rugby Todd Blackadder.

“We will know more in terms of timeframes following the surgery, but we’re looking forward to welcoming him back into the squad.”

Faletau is now set to be a spectator for the entire Six Nations campaign, watching his national team-mates look to continue their winning run when they face England in their next game, in Cardiff next weekend.
