Former Scotland captain arrested AGAIN as source claims he's 'given an inch and takes a mile'

Stuart Hogg has once again been arrested after breaching a non-harassment order against his ex-wife, which had initially been imposed in 2024 after pleading guilty to a domestic abuse charge.

According to The Scottish Sun, Hogg was arrested on February 12 at Manchester Airport as he arrived from France.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 33-year-old man was arrested in the Hawick area on Thursday, 12 February 2026, in connection with a report of a breach of a non-harassment order.

“He was released without charge.”

“Given an inch and takes a mile”

The breach related to an app that Hogg uses with his ex-wife, Gillian Smith, which he reportedly used to harass her on personal issues, as opposed to the intention of the app, which is to discuss matters relating only to their four children.

A source told the Sun: “A red flag appeared on his passport as he flew into Manchester airport from France and he was collared by police.

“He was ordered to report to the station in Hawick. He was arrested and interviewed, but there wasn’t enough to charge him.

“He is allowed to message Gillian over an app to discuss only the kids, but once again, he’s given an inch and takes a mile.

“She’s hoping the order can be amended so that he will only be able to contact her through lawyers from now on.”

Stripped of his MBE

The former rugby star retired from international rugby in 2023, claiming that at the time he felt “miles off the pace” compared to his fellow countrymen. Since then, he has been embroiled in numerous legal issues, which have seen his squeaky-clean reputation ripped to shreds.

Such has been his fall from grace that the Scottish Test centurion has since had his MBE stripped by the king earlier this month.

The UK’s official public record, The Gazette, stated: “The King has directed that the appointment of Stuart William Hogg to be a Member of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 30 December 2023 shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.”
