Fiji and Samoa will contest the Pacific Nations Cup Final in Vancouver on Monday after both sides claimed narrow wins on Wednesday.

The south sea islanders clinched their spots in the tournament's marquee match after Fiji edged out Japan 27-22 and Samoa squeezed past Canada 21-20 in their final round robin matches in Toronto.

The final will be a repeat of their Round Two clash which ended in an entertaining 30-30 draw in Sacramento last Friday.

Tonga, who missed out narrowly on a place in the final due to Samoa's victory over Canada, will take on Japan in the play-off for third place in Vancouver after they claimed a 33-19 victory over the USA in their final round robin match on Wednesday.

This means that the tournament's two North American countries, Canada and the USA, will do battle in the play-off for fifth place in Vancouver.
